CG Capital

is the fund management arm of Central Group, one of Thailand’s leading business groups engaged in retail, property development and hospitality. As a 6-decade-old family business, our goal is to provide long-term, sustainable financial returns for our investors, while building lasting and meaningful positive-sum relationships.

Our first fund, “CG Capital Real Estate Partners Fund 1”, is a US$300 million hospitality-focused Private Equity Fund borne out of the COVID-19 crisis. As the primary driver of the Thailand’s economy, we believe in the long-term resiliency of the Thai hospitality industry, and aim to unlock value for the domestic economy as global travel demand returns to normalcy.

Phoom Chirathivat

Managing Partner, Co-Founder

Phoom Chirathivat is the Managing Partner and Co-Head of CG Capital. He has over 10 years of experience in private equity, and real estate investment and development in Thailand and Southeast Asia.

In addition to his role at CG Capital, Mr. Chirathivat serves as the Head of Hotels and Alternative Investments at Central Pattana Plc, Thailand’s largest mixed-use developer with over 40 projects nation-wide. Recognized for leading the company’s diversification into new asset classes, he plays a key role in building Central Pattana’s portfolio of hotels, as well as investing in data centers and venture capital.

Before assuming his current roles, Mr. Chirathivat was a VP at L Catterton, the US$1.6 billion LVMH-backed consumer private equity fund.

Mr. Chirathivat is a member of the Excom of Park Hyatt Bangkok and Hilton Pattaya, and Board of Directors of MEGA Bangna,

He holds a BA in Political Science from Tufts University,
and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

Soravit Chairoj

Managing Partner, Co-Founder

Soravit Chairoj is the Managing Partner and Co-Head of CG Capital. He brings more than 20 years of real estate and private equity investment experiences internationally, including involvement in more than 30 hotels and serviced residences across Thailand and Southeast Asia.

Mr. Chairoj also serves as the Co-Founder at Koon Estate, contributing significantly to the success of award-winning projects like Kimpton Kitalay Samui, Hyde Park Garden, Cooper Siam, and the Quarter Collection.

Prior to taking on his current roles, Mr. Chairoj had broad experience in a wide range of transactions with Lehman Brothers across Asia including real estate acquisitions, joint ventures, securitization and placement, restructuring workouts, and fixed income trading. 

Mr. Chairoj graduated with honors from Stanford University with a B.A. in Economics and M.S. in Management Science & Engineering. He is a King’s Scholar and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Charles Rubin

Managing Director IR, GC and Risk

Charles Rubin is the Managing Director of Investor Relation, Governance and Compliance, and Risk at CG Capital. Bringing 30 years of experiences in Thailand and SEA, Mr. Rubin’s expertise is in real estate investment, mergers & acquisitions, and legal structuring.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Rubin was the Managing Director and Head of Lehman Brothers Global Real Estate Group for SEA. He oversaw real estate investments and non-performing loans (NPL) totaling approximately USD 2 billion.

Mr. Rubin holds a BA in International Relations and JD from Cornell Law School

Jason Dunn

Managing Director CIO

Jason Dunn is the Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of CG Capital. With over 20 years of experience in real estate investment, including more than 10 years in Thailand, Mr. Dunn specializes in hotel acquisition, investment, and development. 

Before assuming his current role, Mr. Dunn served as the Head of Lehman Brothers Global Real Estate Fund for North Asia, overseeing real estate investments totaling approximately USD 3 billion.

Mr. Dunn holds a BCA in Accounting and BCom from Victoria University of Wellington. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in New Zealand.
